At Banana Moon Dyce, we believe that meaningful connections with our local community provide children with valuable opportunities to learn about the world around them, develop a sense of belonging and understand how their actions can make a positive difference to others.
We are delighted to be developing a community partnership with Archway Respite Care on Victoria Street in Dyce, supporting their work to create and improve an outdoor garden space for the children and adults who use their service.
As part of the project, we were pleased to welcome members of the Archway team to Banana Moon Dyce. They brought along tyres for our children to paint and decorate before they are returned and used to bring additional colour and creativity to the garden.
Our children will have the opportunity to contribute their own ideas and designs, giving them a meaningful role within a real community project. Experiences such as this encourage creativity, collaboration and communication while helping children understand that they can contribute positively to their local community.
The project has also been supported by the generosity of ASNAP, who kindly donated a range of resources for Archway to make use of within their service. We are extremely grateful for their contribution and continued support of local organisations and community initiatives.
Once the outdoor area has been developed and is ready for visitors, our children will have further opportunities to build on this partnership through visits to Archway and shared planting experiences.
These real-life experiences provide opportunities for children to learn beyond the nursery environment. Through participating in community projects, children can develop confidence, build relationships with others and gain a greater understanding of kindness, responsibility and the importance of working together.
Building strong community connections is an important part of our approach at Banana Moon Dyce. We are proud to work alongside local organisations and services to create experiences that are meaningful for our children while contributing positively to the wider Dyce community.
We look forward to seeing the children’s creativity become part of Archway’s garden and to continuing to develop this valuable partnership in the future.
