Exploring Emotions During Mental Health Awareness Week

Exploring Emotions During Mental Health Awareness Week
🧠💛 Mental Health Awareness Week 💛🧠
As part of Mental Health Awareness Week, the children took part in a creative cause-and-effect experience inspired by The Colour Monster.
Using different coloured paints and cotton pads, the children watched as the colours slowly spread, blend, and change. This simple yet engaging activity created a lovely opportunity to talk about feelings and emotions together.
We explored how, just like the colours mixing on the cotton pad, our emotions can sometimes blend too. Children learned that we don’t always feel just one emotion at a time — sometimes we experience many feelings all at once.
This hands-on experience supported the children in exploring emotions in a gentle and meaningful way, helping them to understand that feelings can change, combine, and look different for everyone — and that all feelings are valid.
It was a calm and thoughtful activity that encouraged curiosity, conversation, and emotional awareness, supporting the children’s well-being through play and exploration.
